Are you a Colorado birder? Do you know a Colorado birder? Do you just like birds? The Aiken Audubon Society of the Colorado Springs area has created a gorgeous 12-month 2013 calendar to raise funds for education, field trips, and conservation. Printed in full-color, the photographs are of birds found in state, and I’m pretty pleased to say that more than half the shots are mine!
Along with the Western Tanager on the cover, featured birds include a vibrant red Pine Grosbeak, Mountain Bluebird, Lewis’s Woodpecker, and White-tailed Ptarmigan in their winter plumage, along with some surprises. With a spiral binding and hole for hanging, these wall calendars would make a thoughtful gift for any birder in Colorado or elsewhere.
The calendars will be available at the upcoming chapter meeting and program on Wednesday, September 19, at future meetings, and directly from the various Aiken board members. If you’re interested, send me an email. A suggested donation of at least $12 covers costs; any amount above that is tax-deductible. Checks should be made out to “Aiken Audubon Society.”
Yahoo! What a great idea, and congrats on the inclusion of so many of your photos. I gotta have one!
